On November 2, 2009, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that Dr. Zhu Di became the new President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA).
Dr. Zhu Di was born in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province in 1954. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering as the first Ph.D from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics In 1985, and then became a teacher of NUAA; In 1999 Dr. Zhu Di was selected to be Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor by the Ministry of Education. From 1991 to 1992 Dr. Zhu Di was supported by the British Council scholarship as a post-doctor at University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. From 1995 to 1999 he was employed as a researcher at State University of Nebraska, USA. From 1999, Dr. Zhu Di acted as the Dean of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; In 2007 he was appointed the vice-president of NUAA. 
Now Dr. Zhu Di is the Member of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and the Director of Academic Committee of Non-Conventional Processing Society of China. |
