College of Material Science and Technology has three departments: Department of Material Science and Technology, Department of Material Processing Automation and Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. It also has one central experiment center, four research institutes, namely ,Compound Material Institute, Environment Protection Technology Institute, Cultural Relic Preservation Technology Institute, Painting and Coating Technology Institute. In the college there are also Special Material Manufacturing and Developing Center and Engineers and Technicians Training Center.
    The college aims at training qualified professional talents in the field of material science and engineering. The total number of undergraduate and graduate students amounts to 500.

Programs for Bachelor Degree
1. Materials Science and Engineering: It aims at training advanced engineering and technical talents to do material design, material analysis, material processing, to develop new products, to work with quality control, scientific research and to do business administration in the field of material science.
2. Applied Chemistry: It tries to train advanced engineering and technical talents to do chemical synthesis, chemical analysis, to develop new products, to work with quality control and to do scientific research and business administration.
